‘Sorting, arranging, discarding are daily actions that often occur mechanically, without any thought being given to how they work. The act of archiving appears innate and devoid of any subjective imprint. The selection process is the result of an interpretation of what is significant or representative of a society at a given time, which leads to potential omissions. Beyond the inherent challenges posed by archives, the aim for the designer is to discover what classification represents and to demonstrate that the non-exhaustiveness of archives represents an enriching exploratory potential.’
